Personal Watercraft Permits

Beginning April 11, 2016, Daybreak residents may begin obtaining personal boat permits for use on the lake.

Residents can obtain a boating permit for personal, non-motorized watercraft use after completing a Daybreak Community Association lake orientation. Each permit is $10 and is good throughout the 2016 season. The permits may be purchased at the Daybreak Community Center during normal business hours. After purchasing your permit, you may complete a short orientation, which includes a boat safety check at the boat ramp during regular boat checkout hours*. When using personal watercraft, please remember the south boat ramp is the only area authorized for launch.

*If purchasing permits before boat checkout begins on May 28, 2016-- orientations will be available on Wednesdays from 5-7pm and Saturdays from 9-11am.

Fishing Regulations

The lake has been stocked with trout, bluegill, channel catfish, and largemouth bass. A valid Utah State fishing license is required, and all corresponding rules apply. Please stay within designated fishing areas, as some of our landscaping is fragile. Please also be respectful of other users, especially boaters.

Please note that swimming and wading are not allowed in Oquirrh Lake at this time, due to negative effects on water quality and ecosystem balance.

Daybreak Trails

Arguably one of the most popular amenities within the Daybreak community are the numerous trails that wind throughout the area. Currently, there are over 30 miles of trails in the community, most of which are paved and very accessible, with more on the way. These trails meander through the various villages in the community, as well as around Oquirrh Lake. Whether you are walking to school or to a concert in the park, these trails will get you there.
