Full-time Recreation Manager at LiveDAYBREAK

LiveDAYBREAK is an organization that plays a dynamic leadership role in helping Daybreak be the most desirable community in Utah. LiveDAYBREAK is known for some amazing events including Bollywood, Summer Concert Series, Fizz Fest Arts Festival and the Ginormous Pumpkin Regatta.

As part of The LiveDAYBREAK team, you would have an opportunity to help us create the culture of Daybreak. The Recreation Manager would be responsible for the following: implementing specific aspects of the LiveDAYBREAK vision; building strategic community partnerships with vendors; ensuring appropriate budget administration; planning and executing community programs, events, classes, clubs, activities and service opportunities for Daybreak residents; help facilitate community programming and engagement in Daybreak marketing team-sponsored events.
 
The ideal candidate will have community event and program planning experience, as well as problem-solving and budget management skills. He or she must have a willingness to work during events which often include weekends, evenings and holidays. Candidates must also have staff/volunteer management experience in addition to performing event set-up and take down. This position requires a minimum of two years full-time recreation, professional event planning and/or non-profit agency/organization experience. First Aid/CPR/AED certifications and a 4-year degree or higher from an accredited program in a related field is necessary.
 
Daybreak is a large-scale master-planned community nestled in the valley of the Wasatch Mountain Range. We currently have more than 5,300 homes and at full build out will have 20,000. Daybreak has multiple parks and exciting amenities to keep our residents entertained. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing community!

TITLE: Summer Concert Events and Recreation Internship

LOCATION: South Jordan, UT

REPORTS TO: Aimee Myers

COMPENSATION: Hourly $12.00

HOURS: 15-20wk (M, W, F or Sat.)

POSITION SUMMARY: In 2019, Daybreak will host their 4th annual Summer Concert Series. This widely successful series has brought artists such as Eve 6, Berlin, and Ryan Shupe. Daybreak is looking to hire a successful group of college age students to help facilitate, run, and execute this widely successful and popular event.  

 

Qualifications:

  • College student (21+ preferred)  
  • Experience in assisting and executing events  
  • Personable and able to talk with a wide range of individuals 
  • Organized  
  • Punctual  
  • Willing to take initiative on projects 
  • Able to communicate fast and effectively, both orally and written

Responsibilities:

Event interns are responsible for:

  • Coordinating transportation, hotel reservations, and completing the artist rider (when applicable).
  • Coordinating artist meet and greets
  • MC’ing the event to introduce artists and sponsors (involves being on stage with 500-3,000 people).
  • Coordinating volunteers (when applicable).
  • Working with sound crew to make sure everything is running and working successfully.
  • Setting up artist meets and greets.
  • Confirming artist schedule with booking agent.
  • Confirming security, emt’s, etc.
  • Concert set up.
  • Concert clean up.

Additional duties or job functions may be required as deemed necessary.

This is not a 9-5 internship, and will require some late nights. Interns will also have the possibility of working other events LiveDAYBREAK as needed. At the completion of the internship, interns will receive a personalized letter of recommendation and other documents needed to receive school credit for their internship.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Repeatedly lift 30 pounds
  • The work is primarily conducted outside in the elements of heat and cold
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Snapshot:
CCMC (Capital Consultants Management Corp.) is looking to fill a key role in our sales and marketing support team at the Daybreak Information Centers in South Jordan, UT. This unique position is crucial to enabling the information centers at Daybreak to run smoothly and therefore is multi-faceted. In this role we would depend on you to…

  • Act as concierge to potential home-buyers. Continually hone sales skills, with the help of world class training, in order to communicate our brand story and connect customers to homebuilder partners by helping people find the right “fit” for their home. This is not a commissioned sales job and includes a full benefits package. Must embrace sales techniques in the customer service process, including follow-up and tracking. This provides fantastic experience for those with aspirations in real estate sales.
  • Assist the marketing team by gathering and reporting data, and providing other administrative support which serves the operation of the information centers and marketing of Daybreak. This includes taking the lead on several key projects and delivering on a deadline.
  • Taking responsibility to ensure that the information centers run smoothly. This includes doing what is necessary to provide a positive, professional atmosphere. Working with management and fellow team members (often from other parts of the community) to establish and carry out processes that manage everything from building maintenance to customer relations to café assistance to running errands in or outside of the community. Primarily, you would be staffing an information center on your own. A proactive, independent self-starter who enjoys a certain degree of autonomy will succeed in this role.
  • Participate in the planning and carrying out of PR events. We run several events throughout the year and our sales and marketing support staff are crucial. This would require occasionally working hours that are outside of normally scheduled hours. You must be willing to work morning/evening/weekend/holiday hours when needed.
  • Have fun in your work! As the face of Daybreak for many residents, home shoppers and fellow professionals, we set the tone for this great community. It is important to bring our best selves, our creativity and our unique gifts to work with us to surprise and delight those we interface with.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Required)
  • Some experience with website content management systems (Preferred)
  • Digital Photography and basic editing experience or a desire to learn (Preferred)
  • Education: Some College or College Degree (Preferred)

This is a full-time hourly position with 40 hours per week. Benefits include health insurance, PTO, a picturesque work environment and free snacks. Candidates must be able to work 5 days per week, including 3 Saturdays per month and have a flexible schedule to work additional or alternate hours when needed. Normal hours are 10am-6pm, closed Sundays. This position at times requires extended time on your feet, including occasional help covering in the café. Candidate must have access to a vehicle and be willing to use personal vehicle to run occasional errands as needed with mileage reimbursement.

Salary: Starting at $17/hr depending upon experience


Collections Admin position 

 

 
The Collections Admin is the first point of contact for collections and collection related matters for the Daybreak Community and its Sub-Associations. This entails processing late fees, setting up and administering payment plans for delinquent homeowners, processing collection reports, processing notification to residents that their internet and amenity access will be suspended, suspending internet and amenity access, and other duties as assigned. This is generally a desk position combined with interaction with residents to provide the highest customer service possible.

 

Aside from collections duties, you will be providing office assistance, membership support and clerical administration to the Office Manager. This position is multi-faceted and offers support in a variety of duties which include, but are not limited to, collections, payment plan agreements, responding to incoming calls and emails in a timely manner while logging all information into the proper systems, responding to residents requests and concerns in a timely manner, and maintenance of association documents.

 

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a positive customer service attitude and tactful manner, the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. Highly organized is a must! Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to navigate challenging conversations regarding collections and have the ability to negotiate in the best interest of the Association. Strong computer skills with MS Office will also contribute to the success of this role. Additional experience working for a community association or experience in an administrative or customer service or collections position is preferred.
