Wishing Tree for Grace and Kindness

Wishing Tree for Grace and Kindness

Date: November 13-24, 2018
Time: All day
Location: Daybreak Sculpture Garden
Corner of Oquirrh Lake Rd and Isla Daybreak Rd
South Jordan, UT 84009

Daybreak is pleased to partner with the Page Turners Reading Club to host a Community Wish Tree. Come and make a wish or gratitude statement between November 13th - 24th. Write it down on a tag and tie it around a branch of the wish tree. Ask your friend to do the same. Keep wishing until the branches are covered with wishes and good thoughts. The Wishing Tree is located at the Daybreak Sculpture Garden (corner of Oquirrh Lake Rd and Isla Daybreak Rd).

On Tuesday, November 13th at 5:00 pm at the Wishing Tree there will be a discussion on kindness led by the Daybreak Page Turners Reading Club to kick off the event.

Leading up to the wish tree, we are encouraging a community-wide reading of WISHTREE, by Newbery medal recipient Katherine Applegate. WISHTREE is a warm and thoughtful story of kindness and friendship for newcomers and welcomers alike. The book is written for children 8-12, but it is a great read for anyone.

Let us bring kindness and empathy to our schools and community! We will be gifting a copy of WISHTREE to each of the elementary schools in Daybreak. Read, discuss, embrace kindness. Join us!
