Volunteer Activities Council Spotlight - October

Diane and Dutch Felgenhauer moved to Daybreak from San Diego in December of last year. After visiting a friend, they fell in love with the community. Since moving in, they have become involved with many LiveDaybreak events and other community activities. They even volunteered to be models in a recent video shoot.

“Our favorite activities this summer were using paddleboards and kayaks on the lake and going to the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings.”

Their hard work during the Ginormous Pumpkin Regatta was instrumental in the success of the event. With 5,000 spectators and 700lb pumpkins, we needed all the help we could get! They helped to set up and take away hundreds of pounds of seeds and scraps from giant squash. Daybreak is lucky to have these residents.

“We love the Lake and walk our dog Layla there at least twice a day (yes, even in the snow). She loves it too! She has made lots of "doodle" friends on our walks. She wants to do a little shout out to her "Doodles of Daybreak" friends!”

Diane and Dutch are excited to finally live in a place with four seasons; winter is their favorite. LiveDaybreak is thrilled to have them on the Volunteer Activities Council and have their help for all the upcoming events. This weekend, they are blowing up balloons to help with Trick or Treat Street and will see all the kiddos in costume at the carnival.
