Melanie Gauci Named Recreation Manager

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah - (September 11, 2017)
– CCMC is pleased to welcome Melanie Gauci to Daybreak. In her new role as recreation manager, Melanie looks forward to meeting with residents, listening to the community’s needs, creating new events that spur conversation and excitement among neighbors. She is also dedicated to developing new programs and activities for teens.

“I am excited to work for an organization that believes so strongly in the power of community,” she explains. “When people have opportunities to build strong relationships this creates a sense of belonging that dramatically impacts quality of life. I am excited to be a part of the Daybreak family.”

Originally from Novato, California, Melanie earned her Master of Science in Parks and Recreation and Tourism from the University of Utah. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Purdue University. Most recently, she served as the program coordinator for Club U Camps at the University of Utah, where she developed programming and coordinated logistics for an 11-week summer day camp program. She has also served as a graduate assistant for PEAK Health and Fitness at the University of Utah, as well as a group leader, cabin counselor, basketball specialist and outdoor specialist at summer camps in New Hampshire and Ohio. Previously, she worked as a project data analyst and project engineer.

“We were seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join our team at Daybreak,” explains LiveDAYBREAK Director Dan Rodgerson. “Melanie was the perfect fit! She will play a key role in continuing to deliver top-notch programming to the residents of Daybreak while nurturing the incredibly strong sense of community that sets this neighborhood apart.”

In her personal time, Melanie strives for a daily yoga practice and enjoys hiking in the gorgeous Utah mountains, skiing, snowboarding, running, cooking, and reading. She has completed four half marathons and hopes to complete her first full marathon this spring. After living in several states and experimenting with a variety of industries, Melanie is happy to have found a home in Utah and a career that she is passionate about.
