2016 Fizz Fest Street Fair Sure to be A Popping Good Time

Great music. Tons of food options. Lots of kids’ activities. Art projects. What’s not to love about our annual Fizz Fest Street Fair? This summer, we’ll be celebrating our 9th annual Fizz Fest, making it one of our longest running events and for good reason. Each year, LiveDAYBREAK strives to bring something new and exciting to the table and this year is no exception.

One of the most popular aspects of the event are the concerts that go on during both nights of the event. To kick things off on Friday night, The SLC Jazz Orchestra & JAM Dancers will be performing. Combining great jazz music with an incredible dance show, this group will be a fun way to get the party started. New Soul Brigade will follow them and as the name suggests, they will drop a bluesy touch to some modern classic hits. On Saturday night, crowd favorite Channel Z will bring some of the greatest hits of the 1980s into Daybreak, ranging from big hair bands to the new wave invasion. Closing out the event is Caleb Chapman’s Crescent Super Band. This large ensemble will entertain the masses with their rendition of some of your favorite hits.

As for the food, SoDa Row tenants will be open for business to offer up some delicious eats. Grab some enchiladas from Tio’s, or a cupcake from Swirly Girls; maybe even some great southern food from Porch. If you’re a food truck follower, we’ll have about 10 trucks per night that will be ready to cook you up something delicious. Once you’ve got your grub, take a seat on the grass area and take in the music.

This year, we’ve added some street performers for residents to enjoy. You can expect to see jugglers, stilt walkers, hula hoop masters and more meandering through the crowds. Additionally, face painters, henna artists and a caricature artist will be on hand to add some fun to the party. Part of the street will also be blocked off, making room for some really cool pedal go-karts that both kids and adults will want to try out. As with years past, we’ll have some kids’ activities to keep the little ones busy, as well as a neat art project that we can add to our growing collection in halls of the DCC.

LiveDAYBREAK is excited to bring you this event each year and we look forward to seeing you there on August 12th and 13th!
